DETAILS

Insurance: I am insured in Washington State, through Headway, with these providers: Aetna, Ambetter Washington, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna, Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey, Independence Blue Cross Pennsylvania – Virtual National Network, Premera Blue Cross Washington, Regence BlueShield of Washington and Regence BlueShield of Washington Medicare Advantage.

Session Length and Counseling Relationship Duration: For individual clients, sessions are 53 minutes, for couples/families, sessions are 60 minutes. Our sessions can be weekly, or every other week (bi-weekly). When asked how long someone will be in therapy, my answer is “as long as it is helpful.” I have several long-term clients, and enjoy doing depth-work which often requires weekly sessions and a progression in relationship. Some folks come to address a crisis or urgent/acute need and choose to finish therapy when things are calmer. We can always discuss what fits your schedule/timeline, and my style of work/availability.

Logistics and Billing: I exclusively offer virtual/video teletherapy currently. I use a HIPAA-protected system called Simple Practice as my main platform for video session links, and for our intake paperwork. If you are a private pay (no insurance) client, once I get your information from Simple Practice, I will enter you into a HIPAA-protected platform called IvyPay, and they will send you a text to put a payment card on file and I will charge this at the end of each of our sessions to collect the fee. If your insurance carrier is one of the ones I accept on Headway, Headway is where I will keep session notes and Headway will bill you for my fee. I will still use Simple Practice to collect the initial paperwork and to send telehealth links.
